Omanyte is a Pokémon species in the Pokémon series, specifically in the first generation of games (Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow), as well as their remakes (FireRed and LeafGreen). It is known as the Spiral Pokémon and is classified as a Rock/Water-type Pokémon.

Omanyte resembles a prehistoric marine creature with a coiled shell on its back. It has large eyes and tentacles emerging from its head. Omanyte has the ability to retract into its shell when threatened.

In the Pokémon world, Omanyte is believed to be an ancient Pokémon that lived in the sea millions of years ago. Fossils of Omanyte can be revived into living Pokémon through the process of fossil restoration.

Omanyte evolves into Omastar starting at level 40. It is often associated with the Water-type moves and is frequently used in battles for its unique typing and movepool.
